| "Our chocolate lab, Lucy, came into our home at 8 weeks, and at that time I worked from my home office every day, so Lucy was hardly ever alone. Then, when Lucy was about 2 1/2, I took a job that required me to leave home every day and we in our household panicked: What would we do with our beloved Lucy? Our vet's office recommended Nancy Kaplan and Animal Instinct. Mind you, we're quite fussy about our home, and wary of the idea of inviting a stranger into it, especially to care for Lucy, who truly is a member of the family. When I first met Nancy, however, I suddenly felt like I'd known her all my life (same for Lucy!!) -- it was clear from the get-go that she was a professional, that she loves animals truly with all her heart, and that we might want to give this a try. It's now been over 6 months that Nancy has, herself, been a 'part of our family.' I simply cannot imagine our lives without her. She is one of the most caring, conscientious and reliable people I have ever had the opportunity to become acquainted with. Nancy is religious about 'reporting' to us what Lucy's up to on any given day -- her moods, her activities. I can leave my home every morning with the peace of mind that our cherished Lucy is going to be well looked after -- fed snacks, exercised -- until we can return home in the evening, that Nancy will have been by to 'work her magic.' Nancy is an absolute gem -- again, I truly do not know what we would do without her. (And most importantly, Lucy agrees!!)" Katonah |

"I had never left my two little ones (Chihuahua and Papillon) before but I decided to let go and take a week long vacation. I contacted Nancy and the first time we spoke we must have been on the phone for about 30 minutes just chatting. She was extremely warm and personable. I could tell she was a “dog person.” She came over for a meet and greet and within minutes both of my dogs were on her lap, kissing her and rolling around as if they had known her for years. It was very comforting. We decided it would be best to board my pups at her house so we had another meet and greet, this time at her house. My dogs had never been in anyone else’s home before so I was a bit nervous. Well, wouldn’t you know that both of them were anything but nervous as they ran in and met her family. They owned the place in minutes. We watched as our dogs played happily and seemed quite at home - I immediately felt at ease. During the week while I was away Nancy kept in contact as often as I wanted and would email me stories about what my little ones were up to. They became quick friends with Nancy’s dogs, Sophie and Cali. Nancy has been taking care of my pups ever since. When I can’t be home to feed, walk or cuddle them, I now know I don’t have to worry. They are in loving hands. Thanks Nancy!" Melody N.-Mahopac |

"Nancy has been a great help in watching our cat Kipling when we're away. He's always happy and healthy when we come home, and our house is just as we left it." Lisa and Alex Mount Kisco |

"Having previously experienced less than satisfactory results leaving Bridget, our 2 lb chihuahua, with other pet sitters, we approached this one with no small amount of trepidation. However, as the old adage goes, the proof is in the pudding. We were completely pleased with the service provided by Animal Instinct and it's clear Bridget was too. Nancy's approach was warm but professional, and her home was just beautiful! It is obvious that Nancy and her family have a great love for animals. When we came to pick Bridget up, there had been a transformation. Nancy had taught Bridget how to enjoy playing with other dogs! Best of all, Bridget experienced a comfortable transition from our house to Nancy's and back again. She was not shaking, growling, or having eating problems which she has experienced in the past. We wouldn't hesitate to use Nancy's service again. We can offer no greater recommendation." Ross & Jess M. Thornwood,NY |
